Amman, April 2 (DPA) King Abdullah II of Jordan Tuesday inaugurated the Special Operations exhibition SOFEX 2008 with the participation of more than 300 companies from 60 countries. The three-day event demonstrates the world’s most sophisticated equipment used by the elite special operation forces in combating terrorism and other national security activities, organizers said.
The inauguration ceremony included anti-terrorism operations that were carried out by Jordan’s Special Forces personnel.
In a message read out on his behalf to the Middle East Special Operations Commanders Conference that was held on the fringes of the exhibition, King Abdullah said the battle against global terrorism in all its forms was one that should be won through working together to defeat the common enemy.
The conference that was opened by Prince Faisal brought together some 700 high-ranking military experts and decision makers from the international defence community.
