Southwest Airlines plans to eliminate nearly 196 non-stop flights early next year revealed on Tuesday.
Claimed that due to the company struggles with high fuel costs and a weakening economy, Southwest has to eliminate 196 flights including one at SFO and six at Oakland International Airport in the coming January.
Three daily flights which is going to be cut in November at Oakland, one to Salt Lake City and two to San Diego.
The other six flights — one each to and from Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Chicago, Kansas City, Mo. and Nashville, Tennessee. These are part of the flight which is going to be cut.
Southwest said it will cut 196 flights and add six new flights between January and March. This represents nearly 6 percent of the airline’s daily schedule of around 3,400 flights.
