Some Metro feeder buses back on roads
May 9th, 2010 - 6:00 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, May 9 (IANS) Over 50 Metro feeder service buses are back on 11 of the total 15 routes with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) engaging new operators to run the services.
The return of the buses, after two months, comes as a relief for commuters who depend on them to reach metro stations from their homes and vice versa.
In March, the DMRC had suspended the contract given to Rajasthan Bombay Transport Corporation for running the feeder buses. Failing to get any big-time bus operators for the service, the DMRC has roped in small-time operators.
The DMRC has 120 feeder buses that run on 15 designated routes across the city.
