Skoda’s August sales up 24 percent, to launch new car
September 3rd, 2010 - 7:54 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Sep 3 (IANS) Czech automobile major SkodaAuto Friday said its monthly sales in August grew by 24 percent to 1,511 vehicles and that it intends to launch its Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) YETI later this year.
The growth in sales was due to the success of its brands, Superb and Laura, the company said.
According to the company, its global SUV “YETI” will hit the Indian market later this year.
“To further propel Skoda’s success in the Indian market, we will soon introduce Skoda’s first SUV YETI,” said Thomas Kuehl, director, sales and marketing, SkodaAuto India.
The company recently launched a new customer care scheme Skoda Shield. The scheme is an inclusive package which consists of motor insurance, anytime roadside assistance and extended warranty.
The Volkswagen group company has been present in India since 2001 and operates a manufacturing plant in Shendra, Maharashtra. The company currently offers only three models- Superb, Laura and Fabia.
