Shimla summer festival begins June 2
May 30th, 2009 - 6:41 pm ICT by IANSShimla, May 30 (IANS) The five-day annual Shimla summer festival will begin in this Himachal Pradesh capital Monday, an official said Saturday.
“Shimla summer festival will start June 2. Governor Prabha Rau will inaugurate the festival that will be organised at the historic Ridge,” Deputy Commissioner A.S. Rathore told reporters here.
Noted Bollywood playback singers Suresh Wadekar and Kunal Ganjawala would be the main attraction during the festival. Besides several local singers, Punjabi singer Jasbir Jassi and playback singer Mahaluxmi Ayer would enthrall the audience, Rathore added.
The Shimla festival is being organised here since the 1960s. It attracts a large number of tourists - both domestic and foreign.
