Sharp selling pulls Sensex 38 points down (Second Lead)

Sensex Mumbai, Oct 28 (IANS) Intense selling in the last minutes of trade pulled down benchmarks of Indian equities Thursday.

The 30-share sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 20,116.49 points, closed at 19,966.64 points, down 38.73 points or 0.19 percent from its previous close at 20,005.37 points.

At the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the 50-share S&P CNX Nifty ended at 5,996.75 points, down 0.26 percent.

Broader markets also closed lacklustre. The BSE midcap index ended 0.54 percent lower, while the BSE smallcap index moved down 0.46 percent.
