Sensex up 61 points in early trade

Mumbai, June 2 (IANS) A benchmark index for Indian equities Wednesday was trading with a 61-point gain, about an hour into trade.
The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 16,574.79 points, was ruling at 16,633.47 points, 61.44 points or 0.37 percent up from its previous close at 16,572.03 points.
At the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the broader 50-share S&P CNX Nifty was ruling at 4,988.15 points, up 0.34 percent from its previous close.
Broader markets indices were in the positive, with the BSE midcap index ruling 0.8 percent up and the BSE smallcap index 0.94 percent higher.
