Sensex up 0.86 percent in early trade

Mumbai, Oct 14 (IANS) A key Indian equities market index opened in the green Wednesday and within five minutes had moved 0.86 percent above its previous close.
The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) opened higher at 17,117.9 points and, five minutes into trade, was at 17,172.78, 146.11 points or 0.86 percent higher than its previous close at 17,026.67.
The S&P CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also in the positive terrain at 5,097.15 points, up 0.85 percent from its last close.
Broader market indices too opened firm, with the BSE midcap index ruling 1.19 percent up, while the BSE small cap index was trading 0.96 percent higher.
