Sensex rises in early trade, broader markets gain too

Mumbai, April 6 (IANS) A benchmark index for Indian equities markets rose in early trade Wednesday with gains continuing to be seen in broader markets.
The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 19,698.61 points, was ruling at 19,780.3 points — up 93.48 points or 0.47 percent from its previous close at 19,686.82 points.
The 50-scrip S&P; CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange was trading 0.48 percent higher at 5,938.7 points.
Broader markets were doing better, with the BSE midcap index up 0.63 percent and the BSE small cap index trading 0.83 percent higher.
