Sensex rebounds, close 176 points higher (Second Lead)

Mumbai, Dec 13 (IANS) A benchmark index of Indian equities market Monday closed 176 points higher as late buying helped the index recover from the day’s lows.The 30-share sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 19,600.28 points, closed at 19,685.3 points (provisional), up 176.41 points or 0.9 percent from its previous close at 19,508.89 points.
It earlier slipped 187 points to 19,321.41 points.
At the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the 50-share S&P CNX Nifty was trading at 5,907.65 points, up 0.86 percent.
Broader markets were in the positive, with the BSE midcap index closing 1.81 percent up and the BSE smallcap index ending 2.1 percent higher.
