Sensex rallies 195 points; IT, realty stocks climb

Mumbai, Dec 26 (IANS) A benchmark index for Indian equities was trading 195 points higher Monday afternoon, led by good buying support in technology, auto, realty and metal stocks.
The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened in the positive at 15,782.17 points, was trading at 15,933.63 points around 1 pm, up 1.24 percent or 194.93 points from its previous close at 15,738.70 points.
The 50-scrip S&P; CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange was also trading with good gains. The index was 1.35 percent higher at 4,777.65 points.
Broader markets and all the sectoral indices were also trading in the positive territory.
Technology and IT indices of the BSE was trading with a gain of almost 1.5 percent.
Bharti Airtel advanced 3.3 percent at Rs.341.35. Hero MotoCorp was ruling 2.11 percent higher at Rs.1,889.70.
