Sensex opens on a quiet note

Mumbai, Sep 30 (IANS) A benchmark index of Indian equities Thursday was ruling quiet in early trade.
The 30-share sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), opened at 19,931.49 points, and in about 15 minutes was ruling at 19,981.31 points, up 24.97 points or 0.13 percent from its previous close at 19,956.34 points.
At the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the 50-share S&P CNX Nifty was ruling at 5,998.05 points, up 0.11 percent.
Broader markets were also dull. The BSE midcap was flat and the BSE smallcap index 0.21 percent up.
