Sensex opens higher, up 88 points in early trade

Mumbai, Oct 1 (IANS) A benchmark index of Indian equities Friday was ruling 88 points higher in early trade.
The 30-share sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) opened at 20,094.1 points and in about five minutes was ruling at 20,157.28 points, up 88.16 points or 0.44 percent from its previous close at 20,069.12 points.
At the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the 50-share S&P CNX Nifty was ruling at 6,051.6 points, up 0.36 percent.
Broader markets were also in the green. The BSE midcap was trading 0.85 percent higher and the BSE smallcap index was 0.78 percent up.
