Sensex opens dull Tuesday

Mumbai, Oct 5 (IANS) A benchmark index of Indian equities Tuesday opened on a dull note, while broader markets saw modest buys.
The 30-share sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 20,461.98 points, was ruling at 20,501.71 points, up 25.98 points or 0.13 percent from its previous close at 20,475.73 points.
At the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the 50-share S&P CNX Nifty was trading at 6,170.45 points, up 0.18 percent.
Broader markets were also among gains. The BSE midcap was trading 0.53 percent up and the BSE smallcap index 0.64 percent higher.
