Sensex moves down 0.4 percent in morning trade

Mumbai, Dec 9 (IANS) A key Indian equities index slipped 0.4 percent in early trade Wednesday.
The sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) opened at 17,204.32 points but soon rose to 17,159.44 points, down 68.24 points or 0.4 percent from its previous close, within 10 minutes of trade.
Around the same time, at the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the broader 50-share S&P CNX Nifty was at 5,128.45 points, against the previous close at 5,147.95 points, a loss of 0.38 percent.
Broader market indices were ruling flat, with the BSE midcap index down 0.04 percent and the BSE small cap index ruling 0.06 percent lower.
