Sensex moves 75 points up at opening bell

Mumbai, Dec 7 (IANS) A key Indian equities index rose 75 points into the green soon after the opening bell Monday.
The sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) opened at 17,106.74 points but soon rose to 17,176.72 points — up 75.08 points from its previous close — within five minutes of trade.
Around the same time, at the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the broader 50-share S&P CNX Nifty was at 5,131.3 points against the previous close at 5,108.9 points — a gain of 22.4 points.
Broader market indices were also in the green, with the BSE midcap index up 0.56 percent and the BSE small cap index ruling 0.73 percent higher.
