Sensex makes a quiet start

Mumbai, June 28 (IANS) A benchmark index for Indian equities markets started on a quiet note Tuesday while broader markets saw moderate gains in early trade.
The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 18,493.59 points, was ruling at 18,436.08 points, up 23.67 points or 0.13 percent from its previous close at 18,412.41 points.
The 50-scrip S&P; CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange was also trading dull at 5,521.75 points, down 0.09 percent.
Broader markets notched up moderate gains with the BSE midcap index ruling 0.46 percent higher and the BSE smallcap index up 0.49 percent.
