Sensex lacklustre in opening session

Mumbai, Sep 24 (IANS) A benchmark index of the Indian equities Friday morning was ruling on a quiet note, having opened in the negative.
The 30-share sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 19,836.43, was at 19,862.25 points, changing little from its previous close at 19,861.01 points.
At the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the 50-share S&P CNX Nifty was ruling at 5,961.7 points, up 0.04 percent.
Broader markets were also quiet. The BSE midcap was trading 0.2 percent up and the BSE smallcap index 0.54 percent higher.
