Mumbai, May 5 (IANS) The Indian equities market closed in the red Monday. The 30-share benchmark index of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), the Sensex, opened at 17,687.00 points and touched a high of 17,735.70 before closing at 17,490.90. It went down by 109.22 points or 0.62 percent at the day’s close, compared to the closing figure last Friday.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) S&P Nifty, which opened at 5,227.25 points, closed at 5,193.20, a loss of 35 points or 0.67 percent from its previous close.
