Sensex ends dull, broader markets slip too (Second Lead)

Mumbai, May 18 (IANS) Indian equities markets Wednesday closed lower with a benchmark index ending 52 points lower and broader indices slipping a bit more.
The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 18,177.32 points, closed at 18,086.63 points (provisional), down 50.72 points or 0.28 percent from its previous close at 18,137.35 points.
The 50-scrip S&P; CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange shut shop 0.31 percent down at 5,422 points.
Broader markets also ended lacklustre with the BSE midcap index closing 0.62 percent down and the BSE smallcap index 0.76 percent down.
