Sensex down over 80 points early afternoon (Second Lead)

Mumbai, May 6 (IANS) Indian equities markets continued to trade in negative zone early Tuesday afternoon due to sustained selling pressure across key sectors. The realty sector was the worst hit. At 1.00 p.m., the 30-share benchmark index of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), the Sensex, was down 80.80 points or 0.46 percent to 17,410.10. It had hit a high of 17,502.15 in early trade. At the day’s low it touched 17,339.52 points.

At the same time the broader based S&P CNX Nifty was down by 19.50 points or 0.38 percent to 5,172.75.

On BSE, 1,047 shares advanced, 1,483 declined and 76 remained unchanged.
