Sensex down 89 points in afternoon trade (Second Lead)

Sensex Mumbai, June 11 (IANS) Indian equities markets were trading in a volatile zone Thursday, with a key index ruling 89 points lower than its previous close about 90 minutes before the end of trade.
The benchmark index of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), the Sensex, which opened higher at 15,517.36 points, was trading at 15,377.63 points - 89.18 points or 0.58 percent lower than Friday’s close.

Like the Sensex, the S&P CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) too fell, shedding 0.39 percent from its last close to stand at 4,637.3 points.

Broader markets were also under pressure with the BSE midcap index slipping 0.15 percent from its previous close, while the BSE smallcap index was down 1.01 percent.
