Sensex closes flat amid weak global cues (Second Lead)

Mumbai, Jan 20 (IANS) A benchmark index of the Indian equities markets ended flat Wednesday, 11 points lower, even as global markets weakened.
The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 17,486.69 points, ended at 17,474.49 points, down 11.57 points or 0.07 percent from its previous close at 17,486.06 points.
At the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the broader 50-share S&P CNX Nifty ended at 5,221.7 points, against the previous close at 5,225.65 points, a meagre loss of 0.08 percent or 3.95 points.
Broader markets were also dull, with the BSE midcap index closing 0.27 percent lower and the BSE small cap index ending 0.07 percent up.
