Sensex closes 111 points lower (Second Lead)

Mumbai, Oct 20 (IANS) A benchmark index of Indian equities Wednesday ended 111 points lower as profit booking picked up pace in late trade.
The 30-share sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 19,924.02 points, closed at 19,871.65 points (provisional), 111.48 points or 0.56 percent down from its previous close at 19,983.13 points.
At the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the 50-share S&P CNX Nifty ended 0.71 percent lower at 5,984.5 points.
Broader markets also saw losses with the BSE midcap index ending flat and the BSE smallcap index 0.66 percent lower.
