Segway Company owner dies in a freak fall

hesel Sep 28 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The millionaire owner of Segway Company died in an accident on 27th September. Jimi Heselden owned the Segway Company, and he died while he was driving a two- wheeler machine. The 62-year-old multi-millionaire businessman was found dead in the River Wharfe. It is reported that while he was riding the two-wheeled machine it got hit by the cliffs and fell into the river.

According to police he was riding on one of his Segway’s stylish scooter and was inspecting the grounds of his North Yorkshire estate when the tragic accident happened.

A passer-by on Sunday at about 11:40 am found Jimi Heselden body alongside with his Segway’s scooter near the Boston Spa area. West Yorkshire Police was immediately informed about the man who had fallen from the cliff into the River Wharfe.

On the Sunday Times Rich List Heselden was ranked as 395th and he was worth 166 million pounds.

He was a self made man, when he was laid off from the mines, then he formed his own company HESCO Bastions with his redundancy pay. His first company made a wire cage system, which became standard military equipment for NATO as well as for both US and UK armed forces.
