Sears Website Adopts The Zombie Theme

Zombie October 28, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): The Sears online shopping website is well known for having the widest range of home appliances electronics and fashion products. This one stop shop helps online buyers purchase anything and everything they need within a matter of minutes. The competitive prices and the fast checkout times of the website makes it one of the most preferred online shopping destination.

Recently the Sears website went through a drastic image makeover; the new website has images of zombies all over the place. Not only the images but the site itself features a lot of funny yet intriguing sections dedicated to zombies. The viral marketing campaign of Sears is being used to draw more customers for the upcoming Halloween festival.

Usually the website displays living models using the products. But this time we got to see blood splattered zombies welcoming the users at the homepage of the department store. At the websites gift guide section the users get to see zombified catchphrases. The taglines for jewelry and clothing accessories read “Accessorize like the living”. The electronic appliances like washing machines in the website also claim to get rid of “Brain stains” which must be a common occurrence in the day-to- day life of a Zombie.

In the sunglasses section, the catch phrase “Name brands and bargains” has been modified into the Zombie dialect. The new design of the website has surprised the online shoppers and substantially increased the flow of traffic into the website as well. Every section of the website has a touch blood gore and seems like a part of zombie apocalypse adventure.
