SBI’s West Bengal staff association defer stir

Kolkata, July 3 (IANS) The two-day strike that was called by State Bank of India (SBI) Staff Association (Bengal Circle) has been deferred following assurance by the management for discussions in the second week of this month.
“The strike (July 5 and 6) has been deferred following assurance from the management for discussions in the second week of this month,” a SBI spokesperson told IANS.
Earlier the strike was called to protest the transfer order to to Jagat Chowdhury, the liftman who was allegedly beaten up by a higher official, and Anupam Pal and show cause notices issued Siddartha Khan, deputy general secretary of SBI Staff Association (Bengal Circle).
