Saab Seeks to Form Alliance With BMW
September 28th, 2010 - 11:03 pm ICT by Angela Kaye MasonSep 28 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Swedish automobile maker which was bailed out of certain death by the Dutch maker of luxury sports cars is seeking help from the Germans as well, according to The New York Times.
Spyker Cars, which is based out of Zeewolde, The Netherlands, made the confirmation on Monday that Saab and the makers of BMW- a company called Bayerische Motoren Werke- are talking about forming an alliance which could provide a much needed turn around for Saab manufacturers.
A news conference is scheduled on Wednesday at the headquarters of Saab in Trollhattan, Sweden, although the reason for it has not yet been revealed. “The group confirms that talks are ongoing and will give further details once a final agreement has been reached,” Spyker stated.
