_47340224_008664406-1Apr 10, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Low cost airline Ryanair has made it clear that it will go ahead with its plan of imposing toilet fees on its passengers in the near future. This is sort of an unprecedented move by an airline. The budget airlines try to increase their revenue by imposing taxes for every additional service but slapping charges for using lavatory in air is something that has not been seen so far. It may affect its reputation as some aviation industry veterans think. The airline is finalizing talks with Boeing so that new pay and use style toilets can be installed in its fleet. Apart from that the company is also thinking about reducing the toilets on board to accommodate more passengers.

Ryanair charges the passengers for several other services such as drink and food. If the luggage of the passengers exceeds 15 kg, it also levies a charge. Michael O’Leary, the owner of the company thought of imposing the toilet fee earlier but the implementation could not be done. The decision has already drawn some amused tweets from the web users. There is some confusion regarding the time from when this new toilet fee will be applied. A spokesperson for Ryanair, Stephen McNamara said that the charges would not be applied this summer. Another source reported that such toilets are ready for use.

The passengers who are worried at the budget airlines pinching their pocket for every service may consider opting for other carriers at this move. However, the Ryanair management is pretty upbeat about the new move and thinks that it will help the company to earn more.
