Rourkela Steel records best January production
February 2nd, 2012 - 10:54 pm ICT by IANSBhubaneswar, Feb 2 (IANS) Rourkela Steel Plant, a unit of the state-run Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), Thursday said it has registered the best performance in hot metal production in January.
During January, the steel plant made 2,05,005 tonnes of hot metal which is 7.7 percent more than January 2011, the company said in a statement.
The steel plant at Rourkela in Odisha, 514 km from state capital Bhubaneswar, produced 208,012 tonnes of hot metal in December.
