Dec 10, (THAINDIAN NEWS) In a latest development the famous babycare and pharmaceutical product maker Johnson and Johnson has come into spotlight, but for the wrong reasons. This year the company is struggling to cope with a series of recalls that are threatening to tarnish its image. A few weeks back it had recalled several variants of Tylenol medicine and the latest product from its stable to join the recall bandwagon is Rolaids. The variants include Rolaids Extra Strength Plus Gas Softchews, Rolaids Multi-Symptom Plus Anti-Gas Softchews as well as Rolaids Extra Strength Softchews. As a matter of fact the aforesaid products are being recalled by the McNeil Consumer Healthcare, which is a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson.
The recall was announced by McNeil Consumer Healthcare after it received complaints from a lot of consumers that the products were shipped with wood and metal particles. The company has said in a statement that 13 million packs of Rolaids, used for heartburn treatment and also as an antacid, will be recalled. The company also said that the particles got into the packs at the facility of a third party manufacturer. The production of the Rolaids variants have been put on a hold as of now.
McNeil Consumer Healthcare also said that it is unlikely that the consumers will fall ill after taking the pills but it does not want to take any risk and that is why it has decided to recall. The company has also said that the consumers who bought the recalled products will be refunded. They can call the helpline of the company for more information on the recall.
