Rohini residents demand better facilities
November 27th, 2011 - 8:11 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Nov 27 (IANS) Residents of Rohini in northwest Delhi Sunday demanded better civic amenities in the area.
The protest was held under the banner of India Against Corruption b(IAC) by residents of Rohini phase three, who staged a sit in the area as Delhi Development Authority (DDA) vice chairman J.S. Patnaik was to pass by.
“We held a sit-in near Rithala nullah. Roads in the DDA colony in phase three of Rohini are in a poor condition, and there are lots of problems including water availability,” IAC member Rajesh Sharma said.
He said it was a peaceful protest and the locals later also met Patnaik.
“We met Mr. Patnaik, and he has assured that the situation will be better in a month,” Sharma said.
He added that is the situation does not improve, the residents will hold a larger rally on Dec 12.
