“We are planning to clock a turnover of Rs.100 crore in 2009-2010 (October-September). We are expecting a turnover of Rs.150 crore in 2010-11 as we are increasing our production capacity by 60 percent,” O.P. Dhanuka, chairman and managing director of the company told reporters on the sidelines of a press meet.
Riga Sugar is a flagship company of Dhanuka Group. It has crushed 20,000 tonne sugar cane in the current year and plans to increase it by 60 percent in the next year.
Last fiscal the company posted a turnover of Rs.80 crore.

The company is planning to ramp up its power generation capacity by 25 MW. At present it has an eight MW co-generation power plant.
“Going by the thumb rule we will be investing around Rs.100 crore for this ramping up. Installation will be done in 2012-13,” he said.
Asked about tying up of funds for the project, he said, the company would take a call on it later.
It would sell the power to the grids.
