January 30th, 2012 - 9:10 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattLondon, Jan 30 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Tycoon Sir Richard Branson is shopping for a builder to restore his luxurious Caribbean mansion which was razed by fire last year. Branson placed an ad on the website Building.co.uk and is ready to pay £57,000 per year for the reconstruction of the mansion.
The advert states that the successful contractor has up to 18 months to complete the works on the building. Branson expects the contractor to be able to supervise the rebuilding of the structure and be able to interpret the design that he has come up with. As such, the ad states that the contractor should have problem solving skills and be experienced in dispute resolution.
Branson is one of the richest personalities in the United Kingdom. He is regarded as the 4th richest person in the United Kingdom. His perceived worth of $4.2 billion however only places him in the 254th position on the world’s richest people list which is compiled by Forbes.
On the personal level, Branson has tried on several occasions to put his name on the world records. In 1985, his attempt to clock the fastest time ever to cross the Atlantic Ocean also ended in disaster when his boat capsized in British waters forcing the Royal Armed Forces to rescue him.
