‘Remove infrastructure bottlenecks for travel industry’s growth’
January 29th, 2011 - 10:14 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Jan 29 (IANS) Growth in India’s travel industry can be achieved only if the required infrastructure is developed, experts said Saturday at the 18th South Asia Travel and Tour Expo (SATTE) here.”We need infrastructure to support the growth in all streams related to the travel industry especially the aviation segment. We need better airport, roads, logistics and services to cater to the growing market,” said Navin S. Berry, chief coordinator, SATTE travel and tourism exhibition.
Similar views were shared by the international delegates at the seminar who said that better roads, airports and services attract more foreign travellers to the country.
“India needs infrastructure like good quality roads which are present in Gujarat and the new Terminal-3 of the airport in New Delhi. These facilities will attract more people to travel to India,” said Rika Jean-Francois of ITB Berlin.
A total of 38 countries are participating in the exhibition that started Friday in Pragati Maidan here.
