Reliance Communications unveils one paisa per SMS
November 27th, 2009 - 6:58 pm ICT by IANSMumbai, Nov 27 (IANS) Anil Ambani-led Reliance Communications Friday unveiled new text messaging tariffs — one paiss per message and unlimited messages at Re.1 per day — for its GSM and CDMA services.
The new tariffs are add-on plans and applicable to both pre-paid and post-paid customers.
“On account of significant tariff disparity in recent months, it has lost its due share of attention. Considering this, we aim to revitalise the SMS usage in the country,” company president Mahesh Prasad said.
All Reliance mobile customers can avail of the one paiss per SMS plan by subscribing to a standard tariff voucher of Rs.11 per month.
To prevent these tariffs being misused by telemarketers, a fair usage cap of 15,000 SMSes per month has been placed on the plan.
