Radico Khaitan to launch whisky, brandy brands
July 21st, 2009 - 8:13 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, July 21 (IANS) Liquor manufacturer Radico Khaitan, which Tuesday reported a 56 percent jump in its net profit for the quarter ended June 30, is planning to launch two brands in the brown spirits category.
“We are looking to launch a whisky and a brandy brand, and both will be in the premium segment,” Radico Khaitan’s chairman and managing director Lalit Khaitan told IANS.
Khaitan said the two new products will hit the market next quarter.
The company’s brands include 8PM and Whytehall whiskies, as well as Magic Moments vodka.
Radico Khaitan’s net sales increased 22.7 percent to Rs.274.38 crore in the first quarter of 2009-10, against Rs.223.62 crore in the corresponding period the previous fiscal.
Its net profit jumped about 56 percent to cross Rs.10 crore.
The company also expected the income and volume growth to be on the higher side.
“We have concentrated on our mainline brands which have grown by 26 percent and the total brand portfolio has grown by 20 percent,” Khaitan said.
