Punjab khadi board gets web-portal
February 2nd, 2011 - 7:57 pm ICT by IANSChandigarh, Feb 2 (IANS) To facilitate people who are looking forward to set up small scale industries in the state, Punjab Khadi and Village Industries Board launched its website www.pkvib.in here Wednesday.This website has an interactive interface with eight active menus, providing information about financial assistance to the new entrepreneurs, available market and contact details.
It was launched by Punjab’s Local Bodies and Industries Minister Manoranjan Kalia.
“Khadi board now has its dedicated portal for the first time after it was set up by the Punjab government in 1956. One can also download English and Punjabi forms for financial assistance. This website provides all information for filing applications under the Right to Information Act,” said Kalia.
“This website also has details about various new schemes and eligibility conditions for the applicants,” he said.
One can also access the details of 2008-09 and 2009-10 reports of loan disbursement, which has been classified in different categories depending on the district, type of industry, society, and gender basis as well.
Vijay Sampla, chairman of the state khadi board, said the board is disbursing increased subsidies every year.
“We had disbursed a sum of Rs.6.27 crore as subsidy to 268 units in the year 2009-10 whereas in 2008-09 it was only Rs.3.56 crore that was given to 352 units. In 2010, till December, the board has disbursed Rs.3.47 crore as subsidy to 169 units,” said Sampla.
