New Delhi, Aug 24 (IANS) Creativity and innovation are a must for designers to keep abreast with the times and with this in mind, Preeti Ghai has come up with a pre-bridal collection who want to add zeal and glamour to their wedding look.

“Fashion for me means an attitude with intrinsic aesthetic value. Each outfit carries a message and a memory and my latest collection epitomizes a new kind of sophistication for today’s self-conscious women,” Ghai told IANS.

She has not only experimented with designs, but the colour palette is also different from the usual. Ghai’s collection offers stylised saris, lehengas, anarkali suits and lehenga-cum-saris in tones of sea green, turquoise, mauve and magenta.

With rustling silk, flowing georgette as well as brocade, cotton, and velvet, the designer has created a fusion of Indo-Western collection that boasts of extensive use of digital prints as an embellishment for brides-to-be.

Given that Ghai has launched a pre-bridal collection, what is her take on the big event?

“Wedding trousseau’s are increasingly getting experimental in order to catch up the mood of cosmopolitan brides. Keeping this thought in mind, I have used silhouettes and fabrics that best flatter Indian brides,” said Ghai.

The collection will be available at her ‘Amyra’ store in the capital at prices that start at Rs.3,000 and go up to Rs.125,000.
