Power Grid profit jumps 41.61 percent in Q2
October 20th, 2010 - 7:43 pm ICT by IANSMumbai, Oct 20 (IANS) State-owned Power Grid Corporation of India Wednesday announced a 41.61 percent increase in its net profit to Rs.651.40 crore for the second quarter of fiscal 2010-11.
The company has posted profit after tax of Rs.651.40 crore for the quarter ended Sep 30, 2010 as compared to Rs.459.97 crore in the same quarter last year, the state-owned Navratna company said in a statement.
Total income of Power Grid Corporation, which is engaged in transmission of electric power across the country, rose to Rs.2,222.97 crore in the second quarter of current fiscal as compared to Rs.1,800.9 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
The company’s net profit increased to Rs.1,354.58 crore in first six months of fiscal 2010-11 from Rs.1,006.58 crore in the same period last year.
