Poor visibility disrupts flights at Kolkata airport
March 2nd, 2010 - 12:52 pm ICT by IANSKolkata, March 2 (IANS) Flights were disrupted at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International (NSCBI) Airport here following poor visibility Tuesday morning, an airport official said.
“Altogether 15 domestic flights were delayed by almost two hours at NSCBI airport this morning (Tuesday) due to morning fog. The flight movement was disrupted between 6.10 a.m. and 7.40 a.m.,” NSCBI airport director R. Srinivasan said.
Air services resumed around 8 a.m., he said.
According to Kolkata’s Alipur weather office, a southerly wind formed a thick layer of morning fog in some Gangetic West Bengal districts Tuesday morning.
