Poland wants to set up metal packaging unit in Haryana
July 4th, 2010 - 12:14 am ICT by IANSChandigarh, July 3 (IANS) Poland wants to set up a metal packaging factory in Haryana, its Ambassador to India, Piotr Klodkowski said Saturday.
Klodkowski, who met Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda in New Delhi, made the offer and sought co-operation of the state government in identifying land and getting other facilities, according to an official statement here.
Hooda said that his government would have a positive attitude to the initiative.
The ambassador said that Poland wanted to expand the operations of its company Con-Pack SA of Poland, which is the largest producer of metal packaging for foodstuffs and chemical products in Poland, and set up a manufacturing unit in Haryana.
Con-Pack has a manufacturing facility in Aurangabad city of Maharashtra.
Appreciating the progress made by Haryana, especially on the industrial front, Klodkowski expressed keen interest in having collaboration with the state.
He suggested that Haryana could have a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with any of the provinces of Poland in any field-business, agriculture, food processing or academics.
Responding to the offer, Hooda said that there was big scope for developing food processing industry in collaboration with Poland. He told the Polish ambassador that every second car and motor-cycle made in India, was manufactured in Haryana.
