Plane’s tyre bursts on landing at Hyderabad airport
March 28th, 2011 - 4:09 pm ICT by IANSHyderabad, March 28 (IANS) Passengers of a chartered aircraft had a narrow escape when one of the tyres of the plane deflated while landing at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport here Monday, an official said.
The small aircraft, carrying six passengers and coming from Tirupati, got stuck on the runway as one of its tyres was deflated. The presence of mind showed by the pilot averted a disaster, airport sources said. There were no casualties, he added.
“The aircraft remained stuck on the runway for 10 minutes and it was later towed away to the taxiway,” an airport source told IANS.
The airport officials said the incident had no impact on the flight schedule.
