Pennsylvania sanctions 160 licensed or commissioned professionals and organizations
March 23rd, 2010 - 2:18 am ICT by BNO NewsHARRISBURG, PENNSYLVANIA (BNO NEWS) – The state of Pennsylvania announced Monday that disciplinary actions were carried out against 160 licensed or commissioned professionals and organizations since February.
The Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs license more than 780,000 active professionals and businesses, overseeing several occupations in health and business-related fields, including auctioneers, barbers, chiropractors, engineers, funeral directors, nurses, nursing home administrators, optometrists, pharmacists, physicians and many others. The bureau also provides resources and guidelines to its licensees to encourage high-quality services to the public.
Professionals that violate either state law or that board’s regulations are subject to disciplinary action, including civil penalties and the suspension or revocation of their license.
