Panasonic to source refrigerator compressors from Tecumseh
December 9th, 2010 - 9:49 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Dec 9 (IANS) Tecumseh India, one of the country’s largest independent manufacturers of compressors for air-conditioning and refrigeration products, Thursday announced it has bagged a compressors order for Panasonic refrigerators to be built in this country.
“The scope of supply encompasses the latest and the most advanced environment friendly THK range of refrigeration compressors being manufactured at the Indian facility,” a Tecumseh statement said.
James Wainright, president & CEO of Tecumseh Products Company, handed over the first THK compressors to the senior management team of Panasonic and Videocon Thursday at its Ballabgarh manufacturing facility in Haryana.
“India is one of the most important markets for us and we are committed to bring the best in class products to the country. In the past few years, we have invested more than $80 million in India and will continue to invest more,” Wainright said on the occasion.
Raghavan Ravi, managing director of Tecumseh India, said: “Tecumseh range of refrigeration compressors are the latest and most advanced. At Tecumseh, we are committed to leading the trend towards overall efficiency improvement and environmentally responsible products.”
Tecumseh has an existing strategic partnership with leading brands including Whirlpool, Voltas, Videocon, Haier, LG, Carrier and Blue Star. It is also a preferred supplier in the countries like China, Saudi Arabia, South Africa and the UAE.
