New Delhi, Dec 19 (IANS) Over 2,000 budding entrepreneurs are expected at The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) summit here that will feature icons like Infosys founder N.R. Narayana Murthy and Nobel laureate Amartya Sen among more than 100 speakers. With a theme of ‘Enterprising India’, the event will be held at Siri Fort Auditorium here from Dec 21-23.

Upcoming entrepreneurs like S. Venkatesh of Goli Vada Pav, Mansukhbhai Prajapati, inventor of earthen refrigerator Mittikool, and Sumita Ghose, who founded Rangsutra to provide employment to artisans, will share their journey that touched the bottom of the social pyramid, chairman of the event’s organising committee Alok Mittal said.

The event is being organised by TiE, a group of over 15,000 first generation entrepreneurs from 14 countries.

The summit will be one of the biggest congregations of people who have made brand India a global force to reckon with, a statement released here said.

TiE’s chairman emeritus Saurabh Srivastava said: “The overwhelming response to the TiE Summit to connect and draw out in the form of Gurukul sessions and imbibe lessons from successful and iconic Indians demonstrates a huge hunger among the youth to bite the entrepreneurial bug.”

The three-day conference will have dedicated sessions on sports, education, clean technology and telecom. It will also have a separate session with women entrepreneurs.

TiE Delhi-NCR has planned a series of sessions for the youth, including India’s Olympic Quest session with gold winning sportspersons like Gagan Narang, Geet Sethi and Viren Rasquniha.

“To continue India’s quest for more medals in international sports, India’s crème-de-la-creme in sports - like Gagan Narang, Geet Sethi and Viren Rasquinha - will partner with entrepreneurs to evolve ways to significantly grow its share of medals in the years to come,” TiE Delhi-NCR president Pradeep Gupta said.

A special one hour session called Gurukul will also be organised with Infosys chief mentor N.R. Narayana Murthy, Genpact CEO and president Pramod Bhasin, social entrepreneur and chairman of microfinance firm BASIX Vijay Mahajan and managing director of Hero Corporate Services Sunil Munjal.
