One - two - go , grounded due to the hike in fuel priceJuly 31st, 2008 - 1:45 pm ICT by Amrit Rashmisrisethi
One- Two- Go, considered as Thailand’s low cost carrier airline is facing a competitive market and due to the hike in fuel price and had weakened the demand of the carrier.
The airline had recently grounded on the domestic flights and claims due to the financial situations and the fatal crash in Phuket , a year ago.
In the year 2003, the three low cost airline, One- two – go, air asia and nok air were in a good situation and Thai Airline managed to correct their problem and took a quick action at it. During the year 2003 , the market had a traffic growth and tripled in size since then, from around 4 million passengers annually to more than 12 million.
One-Two-Go is not the only Thai carrier that has radically reduced operations in recent weeks. In Thailand it is particularly hard as the country’s carriers have to pay value-added tax on fuel, unlike in some other countries. The airline will begin at the peak of the tourist season.
