Omaxe to build tallest commercial building of Punjab
May 5th, 2010 - 8:16 pm ICT by IANSChandigarh, May 5 (IANS) Real estate developer Omaxe Wednesday said it would build the tallest commercial building in Punjab, India Trade Tower, at Mullapur, around 10 km from the state capital Chandigarh.
India Trade Tower, an office-cum-shopping complex, will be spread over nearly 26 acres and have an international standard hotel.
“India Trade Tower will fulfil the aspirations and needs of MNCs, corporates and the business community of Chandigarh. The project will bring in tremendous scope for hospitality business, trade promotion and will usher the development of quality real estate in the area,” Rohtas Goel, chief managing director of Omaxe told reporters here.
He said: “India Trade Tower will be a contemporary design, fully centrally air conditioned, 19-floor construction with a total area of 245,000 square feet. Around Rs.120 crore will be spent on this project and we will start construction very soon that would be completed in two-and-a-half years’ time.”
As per the plan, India Trade Tower will offer 42,000 square feet area dedicated to shopping and retail. Seventeen floors embracing an area of 185,000 square feet will be designed as commercial space.
Besides, one floor of 18,000 square feet will be covered with terrace podium, health club, food court and a water body.
A company spokesperson said Omaxe had taken all clearances from the Punjab government to build the building.
