Mumbai, July 16 (IANS) An elderly Omani woman travelling to Muscat died of an apparent heart attack at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport here Wednesday. According to an airport official, 67-year-old Albarwani Sharifa, travelling by Oman Air flight WY-806, was off-loaded after boarding as she was medically unfit to take the flight.
“At around 7 a.m., we received a call from Oman Air staff about the passenger lying unconscious on a wheelchair in Bay 46. The airport doctor rushed to the spot at 7.10 a.m. and found the passenger lying unresponsive on a wheelchair,” the official said, requesting anonymity.
She was given all necessary medication but was declared dead at 7.50 a.m.
When contacted, a Mumbai International Airport Ltd (MIAL) spokesperson confirmed the incident.
