New Delhi, Sep 24 (IANS) Petroleum Minister Murli Deora Friday met Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and promised to give her full support of the oil marketing companies for the Commonwealth Games.
Deora was accompanied by Petroleum Secretary S. Sundareshan and chief executives of state-run oil and gas companies, a press statement by the petroleum ministry said here.

The petroleum minister directed the oil marketing companies to set up hoardings at their retail outlets for auto fuel and CNG. “These sales points offer wide visibility and coverage to the Commonwealth Games’ campaign/messages,” said the statement.

Some 7,000 participants and officials from 71 countries and territories are expected to attend the Oct 3-14 Commonwealth Games, India’s biggest sporting event after the 1982 Asian Games.

The preparations for the Games have seen a lot of criticism, especially in delays over completing key infrastructure projects.
